With the economic growth of Asian countries and the impact of globalization, as well as the increase of cross-strait flights, Taiwan’s air transportation has also been booming.
The number of controlled flights in the Taipei Flight Information Region (Taipei FIR) also set a record high of 1,458,000 while the growth compared to year 2013 is 7.3%. Not to mention a 28.9% increase compared to year 2009 after the launch of scheduled cross-strait flights. The number of arrivals and departures at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, in particular, has a growth of 52.6% from 2009 to 2014. I thank all our staff for their hard work, dedication and admirable performance in a great year of increasing traffic yet without increase of workforce.
