Aeronautical Telecommunication

The main responsibilities of Taipei Aeronautical Telecommunication Center (TATC) are as follows:

  • Aeronautical Fixed Service (AFS)
  • Aeronautical Mobile Service (AMS)
  • The Navigation Aids Facilities Charges
  • Flight Data Operation (FDO)

Aeronautical Fixed Service (AFS)

including Japan, Hong Kong ,Philippines and domestic end users.

Taipei FIR transmits and exchanges aeronautical messages through Aeronautical Fixed Service including Japan, Hong Kong ,Philippines and domestic end users.

AFTN

There are 22 international AFTN Circuit Routing areas specified by ICAO, and Taipei FIR locates in area R. According to the regulation of circuit routing specified in Chapter 4, 4.4.1.3, volume II, ICAO Annex 10, for the purpose of necessary communication connection, Taipei FIR is allowed to accept temporary indicator(s) diversion when necessary.

Aeronautical Mobile Service (AMS)

Air-Ground Telecommunication Service in Central West Pacific (CWP)

Taipei Radio is responsible for offering and rendering assistance for Air-Ground Telecommunication Service in Central West Pacific (CWP) via HF 8903 KHz, HF13300 Hz and HF6532 KHz according to radiotelephony procedure.

The Navigation Aids Facilities Charges

TATC is responsible for collecting Navigation Aids Facilities Charges such as Overflight Charges, Air Traffic Services Charges and Telecommunication Facilities Fees.

Flight Data Operation (FDO)

The Flight Data Operation of TATC processes all the air traffic service messages such as flight plan, NOTAM, MET, etc. FDO ensures that the rejected messages are processed correctly in the ATMS, so that air traffic controllers can use right data in time.
