Aviation industry of Taiwan is faced with dual pressures of rising oil prices, and slow global economic growth in 2012. However, due to expansion of cross-strait flights, influx of low-cost airlines, and realization of the Golden
Aviation Circle in Northeastern Asia, aircraft movements in Taipei Flight Information Region (TPE FIR) increased by 5.08%; on the other hand, with quality ATS broughted by CNS/ATM plan, overflights of TPE FIR increased by 8.81% in 2012. These phenomena promoted growth in the number of flights in 2012 and showcased the increasing importance of Air Traffic services (ATS).
